Licences, and what we did not write.

Three different things get confused with each other: the software our agent runs on, the layer we built on top of it, and your data. They have three different owners. This page is the written version so nobody has to take anyone's word for it.

What is open source

Our agent runs on Hermes Agent, an open-source project by Nous Research. It is MIT licensed. The source is public, the install is public, and anyone can run it.

In plain language, MIT means we are free to run it, to run it for you, and to charge for running it. What it also means is that we cannot claim we wrote it, and we never will. The runtime is not our product and it never can be, because it is not ours.

What is ours

The layer. This is the part we actually build, and it is the part you are paying for:

• The node tree, and the way work is attributed to a person rather than to a folder.
• The memory format, and the way your context accumulates over time instead of resetting.
• The skill library we build for the work you actually do.
• The connectors, and the read, draft and post boundary they run inside.
• The provisioning run, the portals, and the operating discipline behind them.
• The ledger, and the monthly statement of what measurably came back.

What is yours

• Every file you gave us, and every file your agent produced for you.
• Every conversation with your agent.
• Your node tree, as it applies to you. You can export it and read it without us.
• The right to leave, to export everything, free, and to have it deleted on a published schedule.

The notice

pplAGI runs on Hermes Agent, an open-source project by Nous Research.

Third-party components

Every machine we provision carries a NOTICE file listing the components installed on it and their licences. That list is generated when the machine is built, not typed by hand, because a list that is typed by hand is a list that goes stale. If you want the list for your own machine, ask, and we will send you the file that is actually on it.

Questions

Anything on this page: [email protected]. If you are a lawyer reviewing us, say so and we will send the licence texts, the notice files and the current component list for your own box rather than a summary.
